UKRI SMART SIP+ Project

As an IIT Delhi PhD, my research bridges AI Capability Management and Explainable AI (XAI) to design robust frameworks for technology policy and impact assessment. I focus on scaling transparent, responsible AI systems that align cutting-edge innovation with organizational strategy and societal governance. Furthermore, my research area focuses on socio-technical modelling of complex systems. I am trained in mixed-method research methods including qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Interdisciplinary Researcher
in AI & Technology

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working on the UKRI-funded SMART SIP+ project at Birmingham City University, where I conduct interdisciplinary research on technology adoption, digital transformation, organisational capability development, and responsible innovation.

I hold a PhD in Technology Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. My doctoral research laid the foundation for my ongoing work at the intersection of organisational technological capability development, emerging technologies, and policy interventions.

My PhD research investigated how small organisations responsibly design, adopt, govern, and scale Artificial Intelligence technology while balancing innovation, business value, ethics, and regulatory compliance. I work with stakeholders across healthcare, finance, energy, and the public sector to build frameworks that make AI adoption both effective and accountable.

Artificial Intelligence

Investigating the design, deployment, and societal implications of AI systems across industries — from healthcare diagnostics to public-sector decision support.

Responsible AI

Developing evaluation criteria and maturity frameworks that help organisations embed fairness, transparency, accountability, and safety into AI systems by design.

AI Governance

Examining regulatory landscapes, corporate governance structures, and international policy frameworks that shape how AI is developed and controlled.

Technology Management

Studying how organisations strategically manage the acquisition, implementation, and value realisation of emerging digital technologies.

Business Analytics

Applying data analytics and machine learning to understand customer behaviour, decision-making, and personalisation at scale — with ethical guardrails.

Digital Transformation

Exploring the organisational, cultural, and strategic dimensions of digital change — including workforce readiness, capability development, and change management.

Core Research Themes

An integrated body of work examining how organisations navigate the governance, capability, and impact dimensions of AI adoption.

Ethics & Policy

Responsible AI

Establishing principled frameworks for trustworthy and inclusive AI that go beyond compliance — embedding ethics, fairness, and accountability at every stage of the AI lifecycle, from data curation through deployment and audit.

Organisational

AI Capability Assessment

Designing diagnostic tools and maturity models that help organisations accurately self-assess their technical, human, and governance readiness to deploy AI responsibly and at scale.

Evaluation
